Celtic Insurance in Wisconsin

Celtic Short Term Medical Insurance
is available for 1 month or longer (up to a 6 or 12
month maximum) with more liberal eligibility
requirements. Short term coverage is less expensive
because it does not pay the cost of prior medical
conditions.

Celtic STM (3.0) has been
available to individuals and
families in Wisconsin since June
2010.

State-specific Variations of Coverage
CeltiCare, Celtic Saver HSA and Celtic Basic (except where indicated)
health plans have the
following significant
variations in coverage in accordance with state law:
- 10 Day Free Look
- Blood Lead Tests -For children under 6 years of age. Minimum of 2 screenings one at 12 months and 1 at 24 months of age.
- Home Health Care - 40 visits.
- Manipulative Therapy - No annual or lifetime maximum.
- Skilled Nursing Facility or Extended Care Facility - Up to 30 days of confinement per occurrence.
- Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) – only if the condition is caused by congenital developmental disease or injury.
Dental Care – charges for hospital and ambulatory surgical facilities, including general anesthesia for a child under age 5 or an
individual with a chronic disability or a medical condition that requires hospitalization or general anesthesia for dental care.
- Immunizations – for dependent children from birth to age 6. The deductible, coinsurance or copayments do not apply.
- Kidney Disease Treatment – inpatient or outpatient including dialysis, transplantation and donor-related services up to a maximum of
$30,000 per policy year. (Not applicable to Celtic Basic).

5/1/2011 Wisconsin residents using a paper application form should now
use state specific application form
U5-581-00241-WI for all individual medical insurance and state
specific application form
U5-589-00249-WI for short term
insurance. A replacement form, included with the application, is also
required when replacing coverage. The correct application forms are

The Wall Street Journal reports that about half of the 18% increase
in Celtic Insurance Company's rates in Wisconsin comes from complying with
new federal and state health laws known as Obamacare. Health insurance
industry observers say the increase was expected due to expansion of
costly coverage skewed toward high risk individuals while Obama
officials threaten retaliation against insurance companies who criticize
the new law.
